Madeline Burns, 87, of Frederick, formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018.
Born on March 1, 1930, in New Market, Va., she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Sarah (Walker) Spounagle. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Roxanne Burns; and son-in-law, Stanley Mallow.
Madeline enjoyed crocheting in her younger years. Above everything else, she loved to be with her family and her friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Vickie Mallow; her son, James "Jim" Burns and wife, Sandi; her brother, Claude Spounagle; two grandsons, Christopher and Greg; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
