Margaret's Story

Margaret Betty Lou Wagoner, 74, of Short Gap, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at home.
Born Nov. 20, 1943, in Criders, Va., she was the daughter of the late Perry O. Smith and Martha Susan (Nesselrodt) Smith.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John David Wagoner, and a sister, Goldie Smith.
Mrs. Wagoner had worked at Anchor Glass Plant, Keyser, W.Va., and later at Information Manufacturing Corporation. She was also well known in the area as a kind, compassionate caregiver.
Margie had attended Graceland Baptist Church and Springfield Assembly of God.
She enjoyed country music and loved traveling throughout the country.
Survivors include her three children, Glenda Travitz and husband, Paul, Corvallis, Mont., Darlene Parsons and husband, Rich, Short Gap, and Bill Frank and wife, Darla, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; two sisters, Mary Myers, Short Gap, and Ruth Wilson, Cresaptown; one brother, Ed Smith, Danville; and five grandchildren, Richie and Kenton Parsons, Taylor, Kayla and Tristan Fink. Margie was also blessed with many loving friends.
Visitation will be held at Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc, Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Gulbronson officiating.
Interment will be in Omega-Alpha Cemetery.
