Marguerite Cecelia Beal Marguerite "Peggy" Cecelia Beal, 89, of Mount Savage, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.
Born Dec. 30, 1928 in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late James T. Brannon and Theresa (Ward) Brannon.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Beal; and, her siblings, James T. Brannon Jr., Elizabeth "Betty" Lewis, Harry Brannon, and John Brannon.
Mrs. Beal graduated from Girls Central.
Her first job was at the Celanese Plant in Cumberland. She then worked with her husband in their grocery store, Beal's Market. Later she worked at Tommy's Market, where she was the produce manager; and the Fruit Bowl.
Mrs. Beal was a member of OLM Parish-St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, where she belonged to The Sodality.
Survivors include her children, Mary Ann Orndorf and husband Robert, Fort Ashby, W.Va., R. Joseph Beal and friend Kim Weimer, Mount Savage, and James T. Beal and wife Rose Ann, Mount Savage; one brother, Joseph Brannon, Winber, Pa.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at 10 a.m., with the Reverend Gregory Chervenak, OFM, Cap., celebrant.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the nurses and aides in the 400 unit at the Sterling Care Frostburg Village.
