Marjorie Rebecca (Morris) Reuse-Skupas, of Wilmington, N.C., and formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2017 at the age of 73.
Rebecca leaves behind her daughter; Elizabeth Marie Reuse, Wilmington, N.C., her son; Robert Harold Reuse Jr and wife Daw Reuse; and her grandchildren; Althea Rebecca Reuse and Su Elizabeth Raksa, South Korea.
Rebecca was born in Ohio, the daughter of Earnest Morris and Bertha (Mackay) Morris and sister to Susan (Morris) Romano and William Morris, who all proceed her in death.
Rebecca attended Washington & Jefferson College and graduated from the Washington School of Nursing. She was a RN, Professor of Nursing, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Memorial Hospital and Executive Director of Cumberland Neighborhood Housing Services. Some of her proudest accomplishments included the implementation of a new trauma center with helicopter emergency services at Memorial Hospital and the Beautification Program of Downtown Cumberland in the north end.
Rebecca was most passionate about her family and her communities, she loved he mountains of Western Maryland and the North Carolina coast. Her positive outlook and kind spirit was felt by many and she should be remembered as a remarkable, strong women who devoted her life to the welfare of others despite the many challenges to her own health. Her other joys included, gardening, pets, golf, community service, the Lutheran Church and making everyone smile. She was a second mother to many friends and she will be dearly missed.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
