Mark's Story

ANNAPOLIS Mark Andrew Smith, 56, of Annapolis, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 8, 2017, from a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mark was born March 27, 1961, in Winchester, Va., the second son of Richard and Joan Smith.
He graduated from John Handley High School, Winchester, in 1979, and continued his education receiving a B.B.A. in Real Estate from the University of Georgia Terry School of Business. His career in the development industry began soon after with his brother, David, and went on to include many specialty areas of development. Most recently he worked as Vice President of Construction for Aeroterm in Annapolis, developing airport-oriented facilities. Mark had a lifetime love of cycling, enjoying many competitive races and group rides through the years.
He is survived by wife, Debby Smith; two children, Jacob and Taylor Smith; his brother, David Smith and wife, Dina, Greensboro, N.C.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is predeceased by parents, Richard and Joan Smith, Winchester.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Weems Creek Baptist Church, 600 Bestgate Road, Annapolis.
