RIDGELEY, W.Va. Mary Frances Gifford-Kaylor, 95, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 27, 1922, in Elkins, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe D. Lantz and Marguerite (Day) Lantz.
She was also preceded in death by husbands, Thomas R. Gulbronson, Thomas S. Gifford, and Ernest W. "Sam" Kaylor Sr.; a daughter, Naomi R. Souther; a step-son, Thomas Gifford Jr.; and siblings Margaret Viands, Harry Lantz, and Leon Lantz.
Mary was self-employed as a hairdresser, operating Gifford's Beauty Shop and working in the area for 40 years.
At the Cumberland Church of God, Mary had been a Sunday School teacher and choir director.
She attended Springfield Assembly of God, Springfield, where her son, Dr. Thomas Gulbronson, is the pastor.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Bunny) and Ronald (Peggy) Gulbronson; daughter, Denese (Lester) Cameron; a "special son," Ed Souther; a step-son, Ernest (Patricia) Kaylor Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gifford; a sister-in-law, Christine Lantz; two nieces, Linda (Bob) Dawson and LuCinda Witt; one nephew, David Lantz; eight grandsons, three granddaughters, 16 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Springfield Assembly of God on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, from noon until 2 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Gulbronson, officiating. He will be assisted by Pastor Gene Cecil.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gulbronson, Mark Souther, Kevin Souther, Scott Cameron, Paul Gulbronson, Steve Gulbronson, Ryan Reid, Ross Reid, Craig Souther, and Bryan Gulbronson.
