CRESAPTOWN - Mary Jo Ingram, 79, of Cresaptown, passed peacefully Monday, June 20, 2017.
Born on Jan. 30, 1938, on Bald Knob, Mount Savage, Mary was the daughter of the late William Elmer and Josephine Elizabeth (Boch) Shroyer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald R. Valentine, 1970; second husband, William J. Ingram, 1978; sister, Cora Drummond, Ohio; brothers, David Shroyer, Ohio, Dewey Shroyer, Cresaptown, Lawrence Shroyer, LaVale, and Charles "Sonny" Shroyer, LaVale.
Surviving are her daughter, Deborah A. DeVore and husband, Dennis; granddaughters, Mandi Blank and children, Morgan and Devon, Jaime Twigg and husband, A.J., and children, Austin and Aiden; sisters, Verna Long, Georgia, and Lydia Ford, Ohio; special cousin, Jeannie Leasure, LaVale; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mary loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with her greatest enjoyment being attending their sporting activities, church and school programs. She retired from the Allegany County Board of Education as a cleaner at Allegany High School for 24 years. A 1956 graduate of Allegany High School, she took great pride in maintaining the front entrance for all who entered.
Mary was a member of the Cumberland VFW, Moose, American Legion, Goodfellowship Club, and Eagles. She would look forward to their summer picnics and Christmas parties, often arriving with her group of friends.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vicki Cubbage officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, June 22, 2017.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
