Mary Louise (Bruce) Theis, 87, of LaVale, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 16, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Earle D. Bruce and Mildred (Schindette) Bruce. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Burkinshaw.
Mrs. Theis was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, LaVale Century Club, Mountain Doll Club, and the El Fidel Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and dearly loved Pittsburgh.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbert R. Theis; two children, Todd N. Theis and wife, Patricia, Brunswick, Ohio, and Penelope L. Frisch and husband, Gregory, Bel Air; four brothers, Earle D. Bruce, Dublin, Ohio, Ronald Bruce, Catonsville, Robert Bruce and Barry Bruce, both of Lewisburg, W.Va.; granddaughters, Carly Kalbrunner and husband, Brian, Egg Harbor Township, N.J., Brooke Theis, Palm Springs, Calif., and Lindsey Mehrtens and husband, Jim, Bel Air; grandsons, Erick Frisch, Canton, and Alexander Frisch and Jennifer Burks, Plymouth, Minn.; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Avery, Addison, and Camden.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017, at noon in the chapel at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
