CRESAPTOWN Mary Evelyn White, 80, of Cresaptown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.
Born in Cumberland, on April 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Vivian (Parker) Kamauf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy M. White; daughter, Wendy (Wade) Yost; brothers, Gary Eddie and David Kamauf; and son-in-law, Daryl Mosier.
Mary was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1955. Following high school, she attended Catherman's Business School. Mary was employed at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company, the Cumberland Sewing Factory, Bopp's Flower Shop, and Helen's Pizza Shop.
Mary was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Later, Mary became an active member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church, where she used her skills to decorate and do crafts. She was also a member of the PTA at Virginia Avenue Elementary School.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Deborah Mosier, Cumberland, Linda Marean and husband, William, Cumberland, and Theresa Cage, Cumberland; son, Donald J. Wade; grandchildren, Shannon Winfield and husband, Travis, Josh Mosier and wife, Casey, Timothy Marean and wife, Tammy, Daniel Marean and wife, Ashley, Sarah Marean, Jack Fargo Sr., Anthony Wade and Brenda, Christopher Cage Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Stephen Cage, Robert Cage, Samuel Cage and fiancée, Tori-Lyn Martin, and Ashley Stuart and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Brandon, who is presently serving in the United States Army stationed in South Korea, Andrew, Ethan, Zachery, Hayden, Haley, Caleb, Jack Fargo Jr., Marissa, Abbigail, Kameron, Adilynn, Scarlett, and Nathan; brother, Kevin Kamauf and wife, Sharon, Cresaptown; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Kamauf and Kay Kamauf. Mary is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary requested that she be cremated. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be conducted at the New Covenant United Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Chris Gobrecht officiating.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at the Lion's Center for the kind, compassionate care they gave Mary over the last four years.
