Mary Margaret (Hopkins) Witt, 72, of Frostburg, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, at the WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born March 8, 1947, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. Hopkins and Margaret Pearl Hopkins (Ternent). She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Jean Hopkins; and brother, Earl Winters.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mertz and husband, Clifford, Frostburg; son, LeRoy Witt III and wife, Melissa, Lonaconing; grandchildren, Alexis Witt and partner, John, Sebastian Mertz, Ayden Lee Foote, Grayce Witt; stepgrandchildren, Patrick Conn, Brittney Conn; step-great-grandchildren, Baylei and Aaron; and brother, Kenneth Hopkins.
Her most precious thing was her family. Mary would help anyone and everyone she could. For this reason she has chosen to donate her body to the Maryland State Anatomy Board to continue to help others.

Mary Margaret was a very close friend in high school art class. We both loved our horses! I will always remember the time she and I rode Tonka and Barbara's horse to their new home up the mountain. So sorry to hear of her passing before we could connect again. My condolences to her family.
