Maxine Marie Mallow-Bates, 90, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born March 28, 1927, in Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Bates was the daughter of the late Edward Nicholas Entringer and Freda Agnes (Pierce) Entringer. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Mallow, 1983; her second husband, Robert Arthur Bates, 2005; and a son, Stanley C. Mallow.
Maxine retired from Sears Service Center, San Marcus, Calif. She is survived by her sons, Michael C. Mallow and wife, Linda, Clearville, Pa., and Jeffrey A. Bates and wife, Dawn, Cumberland; her daughter, Luann J. Gaglio and husband, Edward, Ridgeley, W.Va.; and her daughter-in-law, Vickie Mallow, wife of the late Stanley C. Mallow, Cumberland. She also leaves behind her brother, Jack E. Entringer and wife, Jackie, Cypress, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Michele Souders and husband, Chris, Little Orleans, Michael Mallow, II, and wife, Amber, Dothan, Ala., Christopher Mallow and wife, Kelly, Martinsburg, W.Va., Melissa Gaglio, Cumberland, and Nicholas Gaglio, Ridgeley, W.Va. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jorden Robinson, Eli Souders, Nathan Souders, Michael Mallow, Brayden Mallow, Samuel Mallow, Samantha Mallow, and Cody Mallow; her great-great-grandchildren, Callie Robison and Asher Bailey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Wayne Turner officiating.
Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.
