Text size

Nancy Ann Buchholtz, 60, of Houston, formerly of Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017.
She was born in Cumberland on Dec. 20, 1956, to the late William H. Buchholtz and Helen Margaret (Miller) Buchholtz.
She is survived by her brother, Col. William H. Buchholtz; two nieces, Kimberly Ann Miller and Susan Leigh Harmer; a great-niece, Regina Ann Barnes; a great-nephew, Austin William Harmer; a great-great-nephew, Derek Harrison Barnes; and a great-great-niece, Kyleigh Catherine Barnes.
Nancy graduated from Allegany High School, Class of 1974, and attended Allegany Community College in Cumberland. Nancy chose a diversified career path that enabled her to help others. She worked as a certified phlebotomist, a registered medical assistant, and a licensed chemical dependency counselor.
Nancy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She cherished her family and friends and always held them close to her heart. Nancy loved reading especially Stephen King thrillers, and she treasured her Precious Moments figurines.
At the time of her passing, Nancy was living in Houston, where memorial services were held to remember the person Nancy was and to celebrate her life with her family and friends. Her niece, Susan, delivered a very loving eulogy at the services. Nancy is now an angel in heaven and will be truly missed by many.
Graveside services will be held at Cumberland's St. Peter and Paul Cemetery at a future date.
