Nancy's Story

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. Nancy Ellen (Kight) Hill, 83, of Morgantown, W.Va., formerly of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Morgantown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Nov. 27, 1933, in Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Ray B. Kight and Lillie Alice (Baker) Kight. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John W. "Bill" Hill; a brother, Thomas Kight; two grandsons, David Thompson and Donald Romain; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A graduate of East High School where she was a majorette, Nancy was a former employee of Dr. Elaison's Pediatrics Office and a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge where she was very involved. Nancy loved arts, crafts, and was artistically talented. She was a hospice volunteer for many years. Nancy and her husband, Bill, were awesome parents and showed unconditional love.
Nancy is survived by her children, Linda Thompson and husband, Dave, Patricia Blackburn and husband, Ed, Robert Hill and his significant other, Connie Gardner, Tammy Romain and husband, Andrew, Don Hill and husband, Harry Pope, and James Hill and wife, Kristie. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brian and Kelley Thompson, Sarah and Julie Blackburn, Scott Hill, Ashley Hill-Cunningham, Christopher Hill, Laura Romain and her significant other, Sheldon Conliffe, and Daniel Romain; and her great-grandchildren, Ella, Alaina, and Max Thompson, Lauren Horne, Kiauna and Milani Gross, Khamani Conliffe, and MacKenzie Hill.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland,(www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Tom Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Centre Street United Methodist Church, 217 North Centre Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the Morgantown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
