Norma Lee (Layton) Shears Kesner, 67, of Keyser, WV, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, while under the care of Caring Hospice of W.Va.
Born on Dec. 29, 1950, at Keyser, she was a daughter of Norman Ward Layton, Sr. of Westernport, and the late Frances D. (Trenum) Layton. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Layton and a stepdaughter, Helen E. Payne.
Norma was a 1971 graduate of Bruce High School.
Surviving, in addition to her father, is her husband of 32 years, Norman R. "Pop" Kesner, Sr.; one son, Jason Lee Shears and wife Dana of Keyser; a granddaughter, Kyndahl Oaklee Shears; three stepsons, Jared Kesner and wife Laura of North Carolina, Norman R. Kesner, Jr. of Clarksburg, and Jason Kesner of Martinsburg; several step grandchildren; one brother, Norman W. Layton, Jr. of Westernport; two sisters, Sonja K. Adamowicz and husband John of Phoenix, Ariz. and Peggy Boal and husband Wayne "Beaver" of Westernport; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Ada Kittle officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
