BITTINGER Olen Junior Beitzel, 76, of Bittinger, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at his residence.
Born Aug. 21, 1940, in Grantsville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Thelma (Yoder) Beitzel.
Mr. Beitzel founded Beitzel Corporation in 1974 and served as President until his retirement in 2014. Together with Mark Folk, he then established High Country Creamery & Market. He was a Heiss Entrepreneurial Spirit and CTF Humanitarian Award winner. Olen was quick to credit his success to his faith in God and the love and support of his wife. A longtime member of the Cherry Glade Mennonite Church, Olen's faith in God permeated every aspect of his life. While Olen certainly was a successful businessman, this is not the legacy he has left. His family will remember him as a loving and protective husband, a caring father, the world's best grandpa, and a great-grampie who loved to play. All who knew him will remember his leadership, trustworthiness, laughter, and devotion to God. Olen could always be counted on to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or to give thoughtful advice. His family and friends will miss his wisdom, love, and devotion but will cherish the legacy he has left.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Maust) Beitzel; two daughters, Marla Brenneman and husband, Don and Linda Kling and husband, Ron, all of Grantsville; one brother, Denver Beitzel, Accident; two sisters, Anna Marie Maust, Grantsville, Lorie Stephens, Grantsville; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Adam Brenneman and wife, Katie and their son, Bear Brenneman, Brandon Kling and wife, Marissa, Amy Workman and husband, Derek and their son, Owen Workman, Erin Younkin and husband, Matt and their children, Ayla and Eli Younkin, Amber Buckel and husband, Neil, Cody Brenneman, Chelsi Hower and husband, Colin.
Friends will be received at Cherry Glade Mennonite Church on Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Monday, June 26, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
