Phyllis M. Bailey, 88, of Cumberland, passed away at her home on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.
Born in Cumberland, on Nov. 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Hazel (Fraley) Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, E. Eugene Bailey and Ronald Bailey.
Phyllis was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1948. Following high school, she was employed at Maryland Nut Shop. A lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Phyllis enjoyed gardening, traveling, and pie making.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Louise Mattingly and husband, Bob, Cumberland, and Eileen Bailey, Cumberland; nieces, Marlene Brinkman, Deanne Stump and husband, Mike, Karen Moderacki and husband, Jeff, Linda Bane and husband, Mike, Teddy Gurtler and husband, John, Connie Hauser, and Gail Harvey and husband, Bill; nephews, Jeff Bailey and wife, Patty, and Steve Bailey and wife, Shannon. Phyllis is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
At Phyllis' request, her funeral service will be private, and she will be interred in Hillcrest Burial Park.
