Phyllis's Story

CUMBERLAND Phyllis Louise (Sanders) Wilson-Bolyard, 95, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.
Born Feb. 19, 1922, in Keyser, W.Va., Phyllis was the daughter of the late Gay Dewey Sanders and Leona Margaret (Leake) Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Leon Wilson Sr.; her second husband, Dr. Richard E. Bolyard, D.D.S.; a brother, Richard Sanders; two sisters, Doreen Frey and Carolyn Fitro; a great-grandson, Richard Wilson Olivier; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A graduate of Keyser High School, class of 1940, Phyllis also graduated from Catherman's Business School, Cumberland, in 1960. She was formerly employed by Allegany Ballistics Laboratory for seven years; however, she dedicated her life to being a homemaker, loving wife and mother, and found pleasure in caring for her grandchildren. Phyllis was devoted to her family and friends. While very busy being a mother, Phyllis was past member of the Cumberland Country Club Women's Golf Association. She always laughed and said her only claim to fame was a hole-in-one on the 18th hole. Phyllis was Vice President of the family auto parts business, "Auto Electric and Carburetor of Cumberland." She was past President of the PTA of Johnson Heights Elementary School. Phyllis was also a member of the ABL Bowling League and the Western Maryland Health System Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church having served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Bink Wilson and wife, Dr. Christine Sciara, Chadds Ford, Pa.; her daughters, Susan L. Wilson, Cumberland, and Connie J. Parker and husband, Matthew Parker, San Antonio, Texas; and her step daughter, Mary Margaret Bolyard, Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Toni Olivier and husband, Rich, Dallas, Ga., and Wendi Compton and husband, Kevin, Wye Mills; her great grandchildren, Samantha, Holly, and Amanda Olivier; and Joshua Thomas Compton and Caroline Compton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.
