SHORT GAPM, W.Va. Regina C. "Gina" (Ravenscroft) Surma, 32, of Short Gap, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at her residence.
Born on Sept. 24, 1984, in Cumberland, she is survived by her parents, Mark S. Ravenscroft Sr. and his wife, Phillis of McCoole, and Karen Beth (Carlson) Wiley and her husband, Melvin of Adel, Ga.
Gina was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Michelle Marie Surma and her grandparents, Frank J. Ravenscroft and Stanley and Gloria Carlson.
Gina was a 2002 graduate of Westmar High School and was employed in retail sales. She attended the Tri-State Ministry Center in Hyndman, Pa. Gina was a lover of animals and was the true definition of a free spirit. She radiated happiness and truly inspired all those she came in contact with. She dearly loved children and was anxiously and eagerly awaiting the arrival of her newborn. She was a loving, kind and generous person and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband of 13 years, David A. Surma; her paternal grandmother, Virginia M. Ravenscroft of Somerset, Pa.; four brothers, Stephen Ravenscroft and wife, Eugenie of Romney, David Wiley of Adel, T.G. Gerard of McCoole, and Jonathon Wiley and wife, Margaret of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters, Angie Llewellyn and husband, Herbie of McCoole, Denise Dixon-Riley and husband, Brian of Piedmont, Okla. and Jenny Wiley of Toledo, Ohio; a special nephew, Tommy Llewellyn of McCoole; a special cousin, Becky Miller of Somerset and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from noon until 2 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted immediately following the visitation on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Leydig officiating.
Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Smith Funeral Home, 85 S. Main Street Keyser, WV 26726 to assist in defraying funeral expenses.
