Reverend Glenn's Story

Reverend Glenn Samuel Jones, 93, of Clearville, Pa., passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Allegany Health, Nursing, and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Oct. 17, 1924, in Joller, Mr. Jones was the son of the late William Jones, Sr., and Irene (Williams) Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Florine June Watkins-Jones, July 9, 2010; five brothers, Ralph, Ben, Jack, William, Jr., and Jesse Jones; and four sisters, Laura Mosbey, Esther Young, Hazel Lavelle, and Rachel Stevenson.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, Glenn retired from the Laborers Union Local #616. He faithfully preached the Word of God for 57 years. Glenn attended the Prosperity Christian Church and the Mountain Top Holiness Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his granddaughters, reliving his childhood through them.
Glenn is survived by his son, Mark Jones and wife, Myra, Clearville, Pa.; his sister, Martha Rinehart, Broad Top, Pa.; his granddaughters, Amanda Harp and husband, Richard, Bakersfield, Calif., and Danielle Marker and husband, Jacob, Cumberland; and his great-grandchildren, Brandon Swift, Rian Marker, and Kendall Marker
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Reuben Rinker officiating.
Interment will be in the Prosperity Christian Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Allegany Health, Nursing, and Rehabilitation Center for all the care and compassion given to Glenn.
