Richard "Dick" Ray Hamblin, 72, of Romney, passed away on Monday Jan. 7, 2019 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Born on Dec.10, 1946 in Middlebury Center, Pa., he was the son of the late Owen Hamblin and Arlene (Wilbur) Hamblin.
Dick was a retired banker, serving as President and CEO of First National Bank, Romney, City Executive officer at the BB&T bank, District Manager of F&M Bank in Keyser and President and CEO of Farm Credit. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church and a past member of the Rotary. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed farming. He was a beloved husband, Dad, PawPaw, brother and uncle.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Lee (Grose) Hamblin; three daughters, Shanna Lee Hamblin of Gastonia, N,C., Jennifer Fishel of Augusta, Michele Voit of Winchester; a sister, Cheryl Shulenski of Tioga, Pa.; three brothers, Keith "Buck" Hamblin of Tioga, Pa., Marty Hamblin of Middlebury Center, Pa., Joe Hamblin of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and five grandchildren, Kirah, Owen, Mark, Matt and Nick.
Funeral services will be held on Friday Jan. 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Covenant Baptist Church, Romney, with Pastor Michael Cheshire, Pastor Dale Myers and Pastor Quentin Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery, Romney, W.Va.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 p.m. until time of service at the church.
