Richard "Dick"'s Story
Richard "Dick" Nelson Milliron, 84, of Carpendale, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Allegany Health, Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 6, 1933, in Punxsutawney, Pa., he was the son of the late Warren and Mary (Douche) Milliron.
He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Betty Milliron; his son, Scott Nelson Milliron; and his eight siblings.
Dick had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was retired from CSX, having been a machinist.
He belonged to Calvary United Methodist Church and the International Association of Machinists.
Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Sara "Sally" (Mowrey) Milliron; his son, Dr. Dennis Milliron, Arlington, Va.; his daughter, Laurinda Pfeiffer and husband, John; two granddaughters, Amy Wales and husband, Kevin, Gaithersburg, and Lindsay Robinson and husband, Jeremy, Cumberland; three great-grandchildren Charlotte Wales, Easton Robinson, and Everhrett Robinson; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jake Wales and Brady Wales.
Throughout the years, the family has been blessed to be surrounded by their wonderful neighbors and friends in Carpendale.
Friends will be received at Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
