Robert "Ab"'s Story
ELLERSLIE Robert "Ab" Lee See, 87, of Ellerslie, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at his home.
Born Feb. 19, 1930, in Ellerslie, Mr. See was the son of the late Grover See and Pearl (Critchfield) See. He was also preceded in his wife of 55 years, Anna Lee "Tommy" See; a sister, Olive June Schroyer; and two brothers, Franklin See and Richard Dale See.
A graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1949, Ab retired from the Maryland National Guard and also retired from CSXT Railroad with 42 years of service and was previously employed with B&O as a Carman. He was a member of the Redeemer's United Church of Christ, Ellerslie. Ab's passion was collecting "O" Gauge Lionel Trains and Bluegrass Music. For years, Ab played baseball for several local teams especially Centerville and Hyndman.
Ab is survived by his daughter, LuAnn See-Teitelbaum; and two grandchildren, James and Brian Teitelbaum, all of Florida. He also leaves behind his sisters, Julia McFarland, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Nancy Waugerman, Osterburg, Pa.; his brother, Fredrick See and wife, Faye, Leesburg, Va.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held in Madley Cemetery, Hyndman, Pa., on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Tomislav Dosch officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
