Robert Guy Jay, 82, of Meyersdale, Pa., died Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 29, 1934, in Bedford County, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert Patterson and Edna Lucille (Smith) Jay. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Baker) Jay.
Mr. Jay was a trackman and heavy equipment operator for CSX Railroad and was a U.S. Army veteran. Robert was the oldest living member of the Eastern Garrett Co. Fire Dept., member of the Charles E. Kelly Post 112 American Legion, Meyersdale and the Salisbury-Elk Lick Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Lee Wiland, Castle Hayne, N.C.; two brothers, Dale W. Jay, Akron, Ohio, Richard E. Jay, North Canton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Tina and Tonya; and six great-grandchildren.
At his request, Mr. Jay will be cremated and a graveside service will be conducted in the Greenville Cemetery on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 11 a.m.
