Robert Lee Reed, Sr., 74, of Mount Savage, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born July 16, 1943, in Brunswick, MD, Mr. Reed was the son of the late John William Reed and Bernadine Blake (Pepper) Reed. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Roy Rogers Reed.
Bob attended Fort Hill High School and graduated from Mount Savage High School, Class of 1961. He was a United States Naval Veteran and retired from Frank's Coffee - Roaring Springs with 18 years of service. He was previously employed at the Kelly-Springfield Rubber and Tire Company for 24 years. Bob was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church. He loved playing softball and Bingo and never missed any of his kid's games, devoting his time to his family.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife: Mary Pauline Reed; his children: Paula Fuller and husband, Bobbie, Mount Savage, and Pam Robinette and husband, Kirk, Cumberland, and his son and best friend, Rocky Reed and wife, Sonya, Ellerslie. He also leaves behind his very special grandchildren, Bobby Fuller and wife, Leah, Kirk Robinette, Jr., Kristian, Karson, Kolynn, and Kennedy Robinette, Jordan Patterson and Madison and Mason Reed; and his great-granddaughter, the light of his life, Emma Jean Fuller. Bob is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Reed and wife, Phyllis, Silver Spring; his nephew, Ken Reed; his special nieces, Diane Sindy, Denise Phillips, Beth DeVore; his very close aunt and uncle, Roy and Darlene Pepper; his good friends, John Price and Wilbur Hite; as well as other nieces, nephews, and family members.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
Bob chose to be an organ donor through Living Legacy to help others.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center Dialysis Unit, 12502 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Singh, Dr. Poonai, his caretakers at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, the Dialysis Unit, Rick Weese, and the Valet Team at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for all their exceptional care and concern given to Bob.
