Robert Dale Riley

Robert Dale Riley, also known to friends and family as "Bumper" 63, of Mount Savage, passed away after battling a long illness, on Tuesday, May 14th at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born in Cumberland, Bob was the second child of Ronald L. and Norma (Spataro) Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron Riley, Jr. Bob graduated from Beall High School in 1974 and attended Allegany College. He worked as a bartender for the Cumberland Moose and officiated basketball, baseball and softball games.
He enjoyed sports immensely and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team and Notre Dame's football team. He also enjoyed watching crime detective shows. He was also known for his sense of humor. He took great pride in his three nieces, Gwendolyn Snyder (Rawlings), Brittny May (Bedford) and Brooke Riley (Mount Savage).
He had attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in his younger years and then in later years, when his health permitted, he attended the Mount Savage United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the K of C.
He will be remembered for his love for his family and his willingness to help those in need. He loved Brooke's Golden Retriever, "Dallas" and enjoyed watching him when occasions permitted.
Bob is survived by a brother, Pastor Rick Riley and wife, Christal of Mount Savage; and niece, Gwen, Brittny and husband B.J.; and Brooke. The family wishes to express appreciation to Jay Stevens (Bob's best friend) and to Jay Walters (Bob's cousin) for their support of Bob.
A private memorial service will be held sometime in the future. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Berean Independent Baptist Church, P.O. Box 335, Ft. Ashby, WV 26719.
