Robert A. Taylor, Sr.


Robert A. "Bob" Taylor Sr., 82, of Push Root Road, Burlington, died Monday, July 8, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born on Oct. 9, 1936, at Benbush, he was a son of the late Austin Roosevelt and Ruth (Nelson) Taylor. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and William Taylor; three sisters, Bernice Hipp, Ruby VanMeter and Maxine Kuhn; and three other infant siblings.
Mr. Taylor was a lifelong truck driver, having worked with H.H. Omps Trucking in Winchester. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Mount Zion Church on Knobley Road, Keyser. He also enjoyed mowing grass and caring for his lawn.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann "Pat" (Rotruck) Taylor; his children, Robert A. Taylor Jr. of Short Gap, Terry L. Mathis of Burlington and Brian A. Taylor and wife, Keri, of Romney; two brothers, Elmer Taylor of Hanover, Pa., and Leslie Taylor of Mount Storm; two sisters, Ginny Marsh of Parsons and Sue Bankhead of Elkins; and 13 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Eisenhour officiating.
Interment will be in Queen's Point Cemetery, Keyser.
