Ruth Emogene "Ruthie" Hetrick, 89, of Alexandria, Va., died Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Capitol Caring Hospice, Alexandria.
Born Dec. 2, 1927, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Orvis and Nora (Bittinger) Resh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Hetrick; two brothers, Walter and Clark Resh; three sisters, Irene Miller, Jessie Resh and Edith Resh; one half-sister, Carrie Wilt; three half-brothers, Elmer, Elwood and Norman.
Mrs. Hetrick owner and operated her own beauty shop. She was a member of Calvert Road Baptist Church and was active in the senior center. She considered herself happy, helpful, joyful, lovable and caring for others.
She is survived by one son, Gary (Susan) Hetrick, Alexandria; one daughter, Dotty (Ron) Folk, Grantsville; three half-brothers, Tony Resh, Stephens City, Va., Albert Resh, Richmond, Va., Playford Ray Resh, Baltimore; one half-sister, Rosella Miner, Grantsville; three grandsons, Adam and Nicholas Hetrick and Jeffrey Folk; six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rodney Durst officiating.
Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery.
