KEYSER, W.Va. Shirley Jean (Barrick) Rice, 82, of Nightingale Street, Keyser, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born on Aug. 9, 1935, at Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Monroe Shipley and Adeline Louise (Green) Barrick. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Harry and Robert Barrick.
Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Clarence R. "Rick" Rice; her children, Richard Darrell Rice of Keyser, Helen Louise Harrill and husband, Mike of Morris, Ill., and Hope Elaine LaRusch and husband, Frank of Smyrna, Ga.; one sister, Deanna Pollack and husband, Ralph of Mount Savage; six grandchildren, Richard Darrell Rice II, Tawny Paige Rice, D. Justin Harrill, Jessica Ann Harrill, Samantha Elaine LaRusch and James Christopher LaRusch and seven nieces and nephews, Robert Barrick, Richard Barrick, Crystal Atkins, Debbie Wilmoth, Kurt Funderburg, Mark Rice and Charles "Chip" Rice. Also surviving are a number of grandnieces and grandnephews.
At Mrs. Rice's request, there will be no visitation or services.
The Smith Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
