Shirley P. Roy, 78, of Oakland, died Saturday Oct. 21, 2017, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with family by her side.
The daughter of the late Franklin G. and Virginia Blanche Kisner Wilhelm, she was born April 1, 1939, in Terra Alta, W.Va.
She retired from Bausch and Lomb in Oakland. She made wedding cakes and birthday cakes for many special occasions.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harlan E. Roy Sr.; three daughters and spouses, Betty and Daniel Reall of Frederick, Carol and David Lantz and Sandy and Greg Few, all of Oakland; two sons and spouses, Harlan "Bub" and Keva Roy and David and Karen Roy, all of Oakland; two brothers, Frank Wilhelm of Lenox and Dennis "Danny" Wilhelm of Terra Alta; 14 grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Daniel "D.J.", Terry, Randy, David, Michael, Elizabeth, Julius, Melinda, Britney, Matthew, Alex and Jonathan; 15 great-grandchildren, Seth, Ethan, Jocelyn, Joshua, Jaxson, Levi, Bayleigh, Carter, Michael, Lucas, Brantley, Allison, Aiden, Isaac, Carson and Cole.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Roy; five sisters and two brothers.
Family and friends will be received at Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, from noon until the time of the 1 p.m. services with Craig Bolyard officiating.
Interment will follow in Terra Alta Cemetery.
