FRIENDSVILLE Terry Russell Grove, of Friendsville, departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in the 70th year of his life at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland.
He was born Friday, 27th, June, 1947, 2:55 a.m. at his family's home in Mill Run, Garrett Co., the son of the late Floyd E. and Thelma J. (Frazee) Grove. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents; Lloyd Jasper and Mary E. (Becket) Grove, Alexander Donald and Orpha B. (Fike) Frazee; a brother, Floyd Allen Grove; and his father and mother-in-law, John E. and Ruth E. (Yowler) Clymer.
Terry is survived by the love of his life, Donna J. (Clymer) Grove. They were married on the 20th, April, 1968, in Friendsville, by the Rev. H. B. Rittenhouse. To this union was born two children, namely, a son, Joshua Jeremy, and his wife, Melinda D. (Frazee) Grove, Akron, Ohio; and a daughter, Jamie Alisia and her husband, Jesse D. Warner, Annapolis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jackson W. and Katherine E. Grove; and Lianna J. Warner, sister-in-law, Anna Mae Grove and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prior to retirement he was employed as a Product Engineer by Fruehauf Trailer Operations, Uniontown, Pa., and TREMCAR Inc., Iberville, Quebec, Canada as a Sales/Engineer for the US market.
He served in the United States Army and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while serving in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division.
Terry was passionate about genealogy and spent many hours researching and documenting family history. He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Cumberland Chapter 172, a member of The Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Mt. Union Church Camp No. 502, Department of Pennsylvania, the Maryland General Society of the War of 1812, and Sons of The American Revolution, Little Meadows Chapter.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daymond Schmuck officiating. Interment will be in the Addison Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172.
