On May 21, 2017, Thelma V. Harris went home to be with the Lord.
Thelma was born on May 23, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Taylor Sweitzer and Pauline Bolinger Sweitzer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Harris in 1979; a son, Ronald Harris in 1997; two brothers; and one sister. She is also preceded in death by a special companion, Kenneth Close.
Surviving are a daughter, Sue Harden and husband, John, Frostburg; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Helsley and husband, Robert, Green Springs, W.Va.; grandchildren, Steven Harden and wife, Amanda, Frostburg, Thomas Harden and wife, Laura, Cumberland, Stephanie Harden and fiancé, Sam, Oldtown, Dylan Harden and wife, Arian, Frostburg, Haley Harden, Frostburg, David Harris, Tracy Watkins, David Sell, Chris Sell, Donald Sell and Pat Mears. Thelma also leaves behind too many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews to name them all. She is also survived by special friends and family members, Libby, Shirley and husband, Paul, Edna, Linda, Pete, Larry, Sonny and Joe.
Thelma loved her faith in the Lord and was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg. She also belonged to the Frostburg Senior Citizens. Her family and friends were the world to her.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating.
Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Harden, Dylan Harden, Sam Cope, David Harris, Robby Harris and Donald Sell. Honorary pallbearers will be David Sell, Chris Sell and D.J. Sell.
