Violet "Babe"'s Story
MOUNT SAVAGE - Violet "Babe" Alberta Robertson, 97, of Mount Savage, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at her home.
Born Oct. 20, 1920, in Barrelville, Mrs. Robertson was the daughter of the late Walter Robertson and Myrtle (Emerick) Robertson. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Eloise Trexler, Bernice Appleoff, and Mildred Robertson; her brothers, Russell, Millard, and Kenneth Robertson; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Babe retired from the Quality Control Department at the Fairchild Aircraft Factory, Hagerstown, with 40 years of service. She was "Rosie the Riveter." Babe was a member of the Barrelville Presbyterian Church where she was very active and the Mountain Chapter 15 Order of the Eastern Star. Babe is survived by her sisters-in-law, Lulabelle Robertson and Helen Conway; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Lay Speaker Ed Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
