Wayne F. Magruder, Sr., 82, of Ridgeley, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 at his residence.
Born Nov. 16, 1935 in Ridgeley, he was the son of the late Harold Magruder and Edna (Eaton) Magruder.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Harold "Butch" Magruder, Richard Magruder, Joan Tucker, and Yvonne Simpson.
Mr. Magruder was a graduate of Ridgeley High School.
Wayne was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force.
He was retired from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company.
Mr. Magruder was a member of the Ridgeley American Legion. He loved watching the WV Mountaineers play football and basketball. He was also a Washington Redskins fan.
He is survived by his children, Wayne Magruder, Jr., and wife Cheri, Tyrone, PA, and Joan Magruder, and special friend Ronald Williams, La Plata; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m.
The funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 6 p.m., with his son, Pastor Wayne Magruder, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers are Zachary Magruder, Kristopher Logsdon, Peyton Clark, and Kole Logsdon.
