Wendell Scott "Scotty" Wilhelm, 73, of Keedysville, formerly of Lonaconing, passed away on Dec. 27, 2017, at his home. Scotty was born on Nov. 5, 1944, in Lonaconing to the late Scott Olin Wilhelm and Laura (Durst) Wilhelm.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Beeman, Marilyn Muir and Beverly Moler; and two brothers, Larry Wilhelm and Darrell "Chewy" Wilhelm.
He was a graduate of Valley High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. Scotty retired from the Finan Center after 20 years of service. He lived in Fresno, Calif. for 10 years with his oldest sister. While in California, Scotty enjoyed gardening, sitting on the patio and the monthly get together of the Lunch Bunch.
He also enjoyed baseball games, spending time with family and sending greeting cards to friends and family.
He is survived by three brothers, Stephen Wilhelm and wife Patty of Fredericksburg, Va., Michael D. Wilhelm and Karen Getson of Lonaconing, and Roger Wilhelm and wife Sharon of Lonaconing; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Wilhelm of Lonaconing, and Carolyn Wilhelm of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, Bill Beeman, of Barton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, with the Reverend Heerak Kim officiating. Interment will be held at the United Church of Christ Cemetery, New Germany.
