Wilbert L. "Tate" Jeffries, 37, of Ridgeley, W.Va., passed away on Feb. 2, 2018 at home.
Born on July 26, 1980 in Cumberland, he was the son of Dorlean Sisk.
Tate suffered greatly from the recent loss of the love of his life, Karen. His greatest joy was spending time with their children and his dog, Jazzy. Tate was a United States Army Veteran, having served in Iraq and Kuwait from 2005-2007. He was employed by the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 489. He was a Fort Hill High School graduate, where he played football and was an avid fan. Tate enjoyed softball among almost all sports.
Surviving are his children, Nevaeh Jeffries and Noah Jeffires; his in-laws, Tom and Kathy Yoder; special friend, Thomas Yoder Jr.; his mother, Dorlean Sisk; his brothers, Junior Groves Sr., and Walter "Walt" Groves, Jr. and wife Tosha and their four children; sister Nickie Stotler and husband Randy and their four children, his sister, Ashley Coleman and husband Matthew and their two children; birth parents, Wilbert Jeffries and Shirley Pryor; siblings, Charlene Jeffries, Brian Jeffries, Missy Morgan, Rebecca Pryor and children, Brian Ours, and Jennifer Kreighbaum.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 5 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Fort Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
Following the visitation and funeral, at his request, he will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, in his memory, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Gulf War Memorial, Inc., 27 Potomac Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
