William LeRoy "Pistol" Cavey, 84, of North Branch Avenue, Bloomington, passed away Friday Jan. 5, 2018, at his residence.
Born May 26, 1933, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Andrew Francis and Mary Ellen (Lee) Cavey. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth (Bosley) Cavey; two sisters, Helen Hamilton and Norma Lee Umstot; three brothers, Olin Cavey, Andrew Cavey and Robert Eugene "Rambo" Cavey.
LeRoy was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a retired coal miner having worked for D & L Coal Company. LeRoy attended Savage River Full Gospel Church and was a member of Kelley Mansfield Post 52 American Legion, Piedmont, W.Va.
He leaves behind two sons, Terry LeRoy Cavey and wife, Susan of Bloomington, and Robert Francis Cavey and wife, Jeannie of Bloomington; one sister, Delores "Chip" Jones and husband, Glenn of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Chris Cavey and wife, Tina, Terry Cavey Jr. and wife, Amanda, Andy Cavey, Jamie Cavey, and Niki Cavey and fiancé, Daniel Dyke. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Lilly Marie Dyke, Daina and Breanna Cavey, Brittany and Brycin Cavey.
Friends and family will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services will immediately follow the visitation at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Matthews officiating.
Interment will be at a Bloomington Cemetery at a later date.
