SAN DIEGO, Calif. William Grant Manns was born Dec. 26, 1952, in Mckeesport, Pa. He was the son of William Henry Manns and Evelyn Manns of Keyser, W.Va. He always said that the date was the worst date for a birthday, as he'd get the right shoe for Christmas and the left one for his birthday!
He died Nov. 7, 2017, in San Diego, where he lived with his partner of 42 years, Kathie, and raised his two sons, Lucas (Luke) and Nikolas.
Bill worked for over 20 years as a head bell captain at the Hanalei Hotel in San Diego. He founded the California Regional Internet Co., which he was past CEO and president of.
Luke married Melissa Woody in 2015, and they gave Bill a grandson, Liam, who was the joy of Bill's life. Bill and Liam would get together every morning to watch Dinosaur Train, sports, or the stock market report.
He was an avid "Star Wars" fan, as well as a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
Bill loved the mountains of Colorado where his ashes will be scattered at a private service attended by his sisters, Diann and Susie; nephew, Will; his aunt, Alberta Richardson; and his cousin, Keith Lingsch, along with his San Diego family, at a date yet to be determined.
One of Bill's passions was playing the "Blues" on his harmonica. We can imagine him entertaining the angels in heaven!
