Woodrow Gordon "Gordie" Harvey Jr., 78, of Elk Garden, W.Va., died on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Garrett Regional Medical Center.
Born on July 30, 1939, in Vindex, he was the son of the late Helen (Tasker) Harvey Burrell and stepson of the late James A. Burrell.
He had worked for Bethlehem Steel, Sparrow's Point, Baltimore. Gordie was a member of Elk Garden United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching old westerns and spending time with family, especially his great-grandson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Keplinger) Harvey; two sons, Michael "Mike" Harvey and wife, Sandra, and James T. Harvey and girlfriend, Linda Perzinski, both of Baltimore; grandchildren, Michael G. Harvey II and wife, Theresa, Amanda D. Fletcher and husband, James II, and Michelle K. Harvey and boyfriend, Austin Moorehead; a great-grandson, James E. Fletcher III who shared a birthday with Gordie; and an aunt, Ruth Shaw of Westernport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Love, Mona Hershberger and Margaret Rhodes.
Friends will be received at C&S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller (www.csfredlockfh.com), on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at Elk Garden United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Matthew Paugh and Mark Hickman officiating.
