Carole Sue (Tasker) Italiano, 74, peacefully passed away at her home, Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Carole was born in Cumberland on March 19, 1943, to Sam Tasker and Peggy Purinton Tasker.
A Cocoa High graduate, Carole attended Brevard Junior College and Potomac State College. She spent much of her career as a mechanical designer with Westinghouse.
Carole Sue, as the family liked to call her, to her chagrin, enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, dancing, writing poetry, traveling and discussing politics. She was a determined advocate for equal rights and just plain doing the right thing. She had a dry wit and used it well. She was both fun and fierce.
Her love of travel took her to Europe (Portugal, Austria, Germany), North Africa (Casablanca) and the Middle East (Cairo, Tel Aviv) all of which she thoroughly experienced and enjoyed.
Carole raised and is survived by her three children (first husband Paul Italiano), Spencer Italiano (Pat) of Anchorage, Alaska; Andrea Italiano of Tarpon Springs; and Rhonda Rhoads of Melbourne; four grandchildren; sister, Molly Tasker; and aunt, Lois Stephens (Tom), all of Melbourne.
Carole is predeceased by her parents and her second husband Robert Gibbens.
A remembrance gathering will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Amici's Restaurant, 7720 N. Wickham Road, #120, Melbourne, (321-255-5377).
Interment of ashes will be scheduled for Spring 2018, at Hillcrest Burial Park, Cumberland.
