CUMBERLAND Charles Davis Tyler, 64, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital of WVU.
Born Nov. 20, 1952, in Riverdale, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Tyler and Margaret June (Dodson) Tyler.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Gary Tyler.
Mr. Tyler served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He had been a floor installer and carpenter, having worked for Frederick Floor Company.
Mr. Tyler liked NASCAR, football, fishing and riding 4-wheelers. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Mark A. Tyler and wife, Dawn, Ridgeley, W.Va., and Craig D. Tyler, Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Tessa Tyler, CJ Tyler, Baliegh Tyler, Braydn Tyler, and Brielle Tyler; siblings, Linda Roberts and husband, Steve, Mt. Airy, Gail Walter and husband, Dave, Emmitsburg, and Randy Tyler and wife, Jenny, Oldtown; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Tim Hockman, officiating.
Military honors will be accorded by Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will have a private interment at Maryland State Veterans Cemetery.
