CAPON BRIDGE, W.Va. Christopher Michael "Chris" Myers, 44, of Capon Bridge, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at his home.
Chris was born on Feb. 3, 1973, in Cumberland, the son of Michael R. "Mike" Myers of Paw Paw, and the late Shirley Ann Ryan Myers. He joined the United States Air Force in March of 2010, serving a tour in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and was currently an Aircraft Electrical & Environmental Specialist stationed in Martinsburg. Chris graduated from Paw Paw High School, class of 1991, where he was the Salutatorian. He was very handy, fixing almost anything with his hands and was an avid WV Mountaineers, Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs Coco, Bailey and Biscuit.
Chris married LeAnn Gump Myers on Oct. 8, 2005, in Capon Bridge.
Surviving along with his wife and father is his son, Dayton C. Myers who is at home; paternal grandmother, Eula Myers of Paw Paw; half-sister, Shyrll Frye of Cross Junction, Va.; mother-in-law, Marianne Biviano of Winchester, Va. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Chaplin Faith.
Interment will follow in the Camp Hill Cemetery near Paw Paw, with military rights accorded by the United States Air Force.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m.
