Donald E. Pfaff Sr., 80, of Frostburg, passed away on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
He was born on April 24, 1937, in Frostburg to the late Catherine Cecila Quinn and Clarence Robert Pfaff. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ester Pfaff, and brother, Robert William Pfaff.
Donald retired from the State Highway Administration after 38 years of hard work. He loved the outdoors and going for walks and had a keen sense of humor. Donald was dedicated to his family and was very loving. He was also a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Pfaff; son, Donald E. "Pete" Pfaff Jr. and wife, Rae; daughter, Lorraine Herndon and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Evin Pfaff, Jeremy Harman, Terry Harman, Jennifer Herndon, and Matthew Herndon; three great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin Lee Pfaff and wife, Eleanor; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Durst Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rob Culler officiating.
Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Allegany County Hospice, 1050 West Industrial Boulevard, No.19, Cumberland, MD 21502.
