CUMBERLAND Dorothy Virginia Keplinger-Judy, 79, of Cumberland passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Hershel Glaston Keplinger and Nora Virginia (Lechliter) Keplinger McIntosh. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Dailey Judy; and one sister, JoAnn Hatfield and husband, Chester.
Dorothy was a graduate of Forest Park High School, Baltimore. She worked with the Baltimore City Public Works Dept., and retired from the Baltimore City Education System. She then returned to Cumberland after retirement to be with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene Judy and wife, Janine, Brandon Judy, and Todd Judy; eight grandchildren, Adrienne Crawford and husband, Christopher, Morgan Judy, Rachel Sullivan and husband, Kyle, Brittany Heim and husband, Peter, Hannah Robertson and husband, Jeffery, Stephen Judy, Matthew Judy and wife, Katherine, Paul Judy and fiancé, Alyssa Elliott; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Frederick and husband, David; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her very special little dog, Einstein all from Baltimore.
The family will receive visitors on Friday May 26, 2017, from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland.
A memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, with Pastor Doug Sandy officiating. Immediately following, a burial service will be conducted at her family cemetery in Short Gap, W.Va.
In honor of Dorothy's memory, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
