ELK GARDEN, W.Va. Dorothy "Dot" (Warnick) Tranum, age 87, of Shady Side, Elk Garden, passed peacefully at her home Sunday, June 25, 2017.
Born in Elk Garden, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (Sayers) Warnick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover "Socko" Tranum; sisters, Eileen Mosser and Sarah Jane Smythe of Baltimore; brothers, Albert "Jim" Warnick of Canton, Ohio and Floyd Warnick of Baltimore.
She is survived by her brother, Robert "Bob" Warnick of Elk Garden and a sister, Cookie Junkins of Mount Storm, and many special nieces and nephews.
She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking and the company of her family and friends, especially her life long friends, Regina Kelley and Mary Louise Balassone.
The family would like to thank Mountain Hospice for their compassion and care and a special thanks to Karen Jones and Vera Ann Stonebreaker for their support and loving care.
A private memorial will be held in the near future by Reverend Byron Mayberry and his wife, Diane whose years of prayers, friendship and steadfast loyalty will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dot's memory to Nethkin Hill United Methodist Church, Route 1 Box 318, Elk Garden, WV 26717.
