Elwood Cecil Custer Jr., 74, of Maryland Highway, Swanton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport.
Born April 4, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Gaver and Clara (Paugh) Wilson.
Cecil was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore. He was a member of Folly Run Sportsman Club, and Cecil never met a stranger.
He leaves behind four brothers, Allen W. Custer of Frostburg, Riley E. Wilson and wife, Wanda, of Baltimore, Dwight N. Wilson of Swanton, P. Russell Wilson and wife, Claudia, of Swanton; three sisters, Myrna Edmonson and husband, Jackie, of Naylor, Ga., Paula A. Tasker and husband, Chris, of Deer Park, and Karen Riggleman and husband, Fred, of Burlington, W.Va. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, Aug.10, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday, Aug.11, 2017, at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Paugh Family Cemetery with military honors accorded at graveside.
