Erica's Story

Erica Nicole Lowery, 30, of LaVale, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at her home.
Born in Rock Hill, S.C., on Jan. 23, 1987, she was the daughter of Ronda Delligatti and Timothy Lowery. Erica was born on her mother's and grandmother's birthdays. Erica is also survived by Kevin Skelley, Cresaptown; and her stepmother, Mandy Lowery, Mooresville, N.C. Erica was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Ronald Delligatti and David O'Neal; and grandparents, James and Carrie (Harrison) Lowery.
Erica was a graduate of Allegany High School, in 2005, and the Allegany County Career Center where she was in the nursing program. Erica was employed at the Dairy Queen restaurant in South Cumberland. She was very artistic and loved to do all kinds of crafts. An animal lover, Erica enjoyed watching movies, especially nature documentaries.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her great-grandmother, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Hagerstown; grandmother, Mary Ann (O'Hara) O'Neal, Cumberland; brother, T.J. Lowery, LaVale; stepsisters, Candice Small, Mooresville, and Misty Maher and husband, Devonian; stepbrothers, Derrick Small and wife, Kaitlyn, Mooresville, Scottie Small and wife, Abbey, Mooresville, Dallas Mcalister, Hiddenight, N.C., and Dillon Kauffman, Mooresville; and special aunt, Debbie Clayton and Leo Appel, Cumberland. Erica is also survived by her Pitt-Boxer and best friend, Nico.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home following the visitation at 6 p.m. with Pastor Gerald Hott officiating. At Erica's request, she will be cremated following the funeral service.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Erica's memory may make contributions toward her funeral expenses.
