Gerald Robert Kennell, a loving husband and father, 80, of Meyersdale, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, Pa.
Born June 17, 1937, in Hyndman, he was the son of the late Hobart and Erma (Lepley) Kennell. He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior, Homer, and Merle; sister, Helen; step-son, Richard Sines; step-daughter-in-law, Darlene Sines; step-son-in-law, Barry Imler; and step-granddaughter, Cheryl Sines.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Hardesty) Kennell; brother, Wayne Kennell; stepchildren, Linda Imler, Sharon (Melvin) Deal, Chris (Margie) Sines, Terrie Livengood, Robert (Marsha) Sines, John (Jennifer) Sines, Bonnie (Lee) Miller, Connie (Jim) Anderson; step-daughter-in-law, Kathy Sines; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and one more on the way.
He is a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Grace Reformed Independent Bible Church and was an avid hunter.
Friends will be received Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, with the Rev. Tom Horner officiating.
Interment will be in Grace Cemetery at White Oak. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard.
