James M. "Jim" "Bird" Willis, 61, of Thomas, formerly of Keyser, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland.
Born on Jan. 4, 1956, in Keyser, he was a son of Linda L. (Kooken) Willis of Port Charlotte, Fla., and the late Martin W. Willis. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Mildred Willis and Pauline Keller.
Bird was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a self-employed bar owner. Jim was a member of the Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Linda; are his son, James M. Willis II of Keyser; his brother, Tom Willis and wife, Debbie, of Virginia; and his sister, Janie Mason and husband, Steve, of Florida. He is also survived by a niece, Marcie Willis; a nephew, Stephen Martin Mason; a special aunt, Mary Balassone and husband, Joe; uncles, Ronnie Willis and wife, Barbara, and Gary Keller; and numerous cousins.
A graveside and interment service will be held at Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Timothy Grassi officiating.
