SALISBURY, Pa. Karl Albert "Check" Ringler, 89, of Salisbury, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale.
Born March 22, 1928, in Elk Lick Twp., he was the son of the late Earl and Lucinda (Lowery) Ringler. He was also preceded in death by one son, Karl Clifford Ringler; five brothers, Clyde E., Walter R., Lawrence E., Earl S. and Robert K.; two sisters, Anna Marie Anderson and Ethel L. Harding.
Mr. Ringler was a cement mason for the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons International Association Local Union 39 and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Walker-Harris Post 8826, V.F.W., Salisbury and Earl H. Opel Post 459, American Legion, Salisbury.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Kay (Gauntz) Ringler; one daughter, Cindy N. Ringler, Mountain Lake Park; one brother, Harry L. Ringler, Salisbury and one sister, Louise R. Tressler, Salisbury.
Friends will be received in the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Alexa Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by local area veteran's organizations.
