Kathleen E. Arnold of Roseville, Calif., passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Born in Barton on Feb. 11, 1918, to Albert and Florence (Kallmeyer) Bland; she grew up on Church Hill in Lonaconing, attending Central High School. Kathleen was preceded in death by her two brothers, Earl and Melvin; and two sisters, Edith and LaRay.
Kathleen married Dominic L. Arnold in 1935. She worked at the Klotz Throwing Company Silk Mill in "Coney." In 1952, they moved to West Mifflin, Pa. While living there, she worked at Stone's Hardware in Duquesne and Levine's Hardware in West Mifflin.
After being widowed in 1971, Kathleen went to school and became a licensed practical nurse. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital on Pittsburgh's South Side. In 1976, she moved to Cumberland, where she owned and operated Edith's Wallpaper and Paint store. In 1984, she retired to California.
Kathleen is survived by two sons, Joe (Donna) of Sacramento, and Chris (Linda) of Centerville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Paul (Puu) of Newport Beach, Dominic of Citrus Heights, Jennifer (Tom) McCowan of Winslow, Maine, Patrick (Nikki) of Centerville; and six great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life she enjoyed reading, especially murder mysteries, and working crossword puzzles.
Mother to our entire family, we are grateful for the gift of her caring and love.
Kathleen will be laid to rest with Dominic in West Mifflin.
